Dear Model T’ers Everywhere,
"At a wedding recently the bridegroom had just said "With
all my goods I thee endow," when his father was heard to remark: "Gee!
There goes his Ford!" (Funabout Fords by J.J. White, The Howell
Co., 1915).
Well folks you have done it again and we your board appreciate
the vote of confidence by unanimously reelecting us for another
term: Mike Story, President; Jack Mahaffey, Vice President, Marquise
Patton, Secretary, Wanda Johnson, Treasurer, Chuck and Beverly
Dunlap Social Directors, Web Master Joe Kaiser, and Tour Directors – each
and everyone of us! Sort of slipped that last one in. We look forward
to another great year of having fun, learning about the T, driving
our T’s, talking Model T, and showing them off to everyone
we meet. Our thanks to each member of this club because it is your
efforts that have enabled us to have a great 2003 and we look forward
to even a greater 2004!
Our meetings will remain on the first Wednesday of the month at
the Casselberry Seminole County Public Library, 215 N. Oxford Road,
in Casselberry because we have been unable to move our meeting
to another night at the library. However, if anyone can find a
location that is more conducive and accommodating please come to
the meeting or call any one of us with a place you have checked
out. Our next meeting is on Wednesday February 4th at 7 p.m. – planning
to have a few auction items up for bid.
Our next big event will be our SECOND ANNUAL Model T Car Show
at J. Blanchard Park, just north of Hwy. 50 on Dean Road, in Orlando
on March 28th 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Anyone and everyone that has
a Model T is invited to bring their Model T – you do not
have to be a member of our club – so come and enjoy. Our
contact person is Mike Bartlett @ 407-366-5616 or 407-521-6777email
TCPORL@Bellsouth.net The show is FREE, no registration, no fees,
no taxes, no cost to come and exhibit. We will be having raffles,
silent auctions, and trophies. This is being sponsored also by
the Orange County Parks and Recreation service who will have vendors
to sell snack foods too, and I believe the Boy Scouts will be selling
sodas. At our next meeting we will also be stuffing all of the
goody bags that we have to give away at the show and giving out
some flyers that you can give to your friends, neighbors and local
businesses for everyone to get the word out. Attached to this email
is also a copy of the flyer for you.
Did you know that you can get a new Gates Fan Belt for your Model
T Ford at Discount Auto Parts? These are last known prices and
information provided by Mike Bartlett at our meeting this month
(there is a lot of information passed out and around at each meeting),
and when you go to the store ask for them by part number:
