At our last meeting on March 5th we had 24 members present. We
had a very nice presentation by a member of the "Sons of the
Desert" "Laurel and Hardy Club" who kindly invited
us all to come to the FREE showing at the ORMC Hospital of Laurel
and Hardy movies and the Little Rascals all driving Model
T Fords. These are vintage films and their club opens its doors
to anyone that is interested. For more information and future showings
contact Dale at dbugg98@aol.com phone 407-856-3937 or Gary at 407-977-0199.
Richard Fortner gave us his Vintage Ford Gleanings for March and
showed us some very nifty tools that he has been able to fabricate
that centers the timing gear cover on the cam shaft to keep down
wear and tear on your engine. Richard also said that our St. Cloud
tour scheduled for April 5th will depart at 9:30 am from the Tractor
Supply parking lot in St. Cloud. The tour will be approximately
100 miles. You will be able to park your tow vehicles and trailers
at the Tractor Supply store. Lunch will be at the Forever Floridas
Cypress Restaurant on the Crescent J Ranch. Please let Richard or
Carol Fortner know if you plan to attend by Friday March 28th --

Our very own Mike Bartlett gave us a slide show of the 28 Model
Ts that were at our first Model T Car Show and Swap Meet held
on January 18th.. We were also able to make a donation of $132 at
the Cruisers for Kids Annual Car Show and every dime went to local
childrens charities and homes: Make A Wish Foundation, the
Russel Home for children, the National House of Hope and the Simon
Youth Foundation. We also challenged the Model As of Greater
Orlando to help in this endeavor for the local charities
I didnt remember exactly how much we had raised told
them $164 so they gave $165! Its all for the kids!
Thanks for everyones participation and especially to Mike
Bartlett and everyone that pitched in to make this such a successful
car show for us all.
Mike Story also gave everyone present information from Murry Fahnestooks
wonderful book "T" Model T Ford Owner" about possible
causes of overheating. We also have all of the videos ever produced
by the Model T Ford Club of America available at each meeting
for a months free checkout and we have a Model T coil
tester for a months loan to anyone that needs it.
